ZTE Nubia X6 Flagship smartphone coming soon

ZTE has released a new s teaser naming the new device as the ZTE Nubia X6, anew device to add to its Nubia line. That much is certain. Everything else about it or them, though, is confusing because of multiple conflicting rumors we’ve heard in the past.

ZTE Nubia X6 teaser

Earlier, we thought there was a Nubia Z7 coming. Then a Nubia X. Are those the same handset, though? It’s impossible to tell right now. To complicate things even further, ZTE itself has revealed a teaser for a new Nubia that will be called Nubia X6. So maybe this is the rumored Nubia X, right? OK. Then what ever happened to the Z7? Or are all three of these the same device?

This wasn’t the only image to pop up showing a leaked image of what appears to be the Nubia X6, as another photo was posted up on another Chinese website mtksj. This image is a little bit different then the teaser posted up by ZTE themselves, and shows off the front face of the new device. So far there is no telling whether or not the Nubia Z7 and X6 are the same phone or not, but the closer we get to the release more details will undoubtedly sprout up for some more debate. With announcements and speculations that a new ZTE device is slated for a release sometime this month, we may come to know more details about the Nubia Z7/X6 sooner then we think. As for specs of this device, it’s said to have a quad-core processor on the inside, the Snapdragon 801 to be more precise, and also come with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It’s expected to have Android 4.4+ Kit Kat running out of box with at least a 13MP camera, (possible 16MP) and possibly have a quad HD display. These specs don’t sound too bad but of course we’ll probably never see this device stateside, and it’s more likely that it will stay within its home market of China.

According to GizChina, the  ZTE Nubia X6 will become official by the end of March, and it will come with the thin aluminium unibody design you can see above. Because only one SIM slot can be seen in the image, it’s unlikely that this smartphone will feature dual-SIM support.

The Nubia X6 could also sport a 6-inch 2,560×1,440 (“2K” or QHD) touchscreen, 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear camera, and a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.

Hopefully we’ll see a few more leaks about this new Nubia soon, so at least some things have the opportunity to be cleared up before release.
