Acer Iconia B1 Appears For a Quick Review

Image
Remember the budget 7 Inch tablet Acer Iconia B1 we talked about earlier ?, which comes with a 1.2 Ghz processor and Android 4.1 software. This Budget tablet is priced arround $99 and waiting for the CES 2013 debut. The folks at Bulgarian site Tablet.bg have gotten their hands on an Acer Iconia B1 , which they say will sell for about $235 in that country soon. They’ve posted a series of photos, test results, and plenty of details about Acer’s upcoming budget tablet. Powered by a 1.2 GHz MediaTek 8317 dual core processor, the Iconia B1 isn’t exactly a speed demon. But it does earn winning marks in size: it’s apparently the same weigh as an Apple iPad mini and lighter than an Asus Nexus 7 or Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablet. The tablet has a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, PowerVR SGX531 graphics, a front-facing 2MP camera, and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 as well as GPS. Acer Iconia B1 tablet to sell for around $99

Image
Acer is going to annouce the new  7 inch tablet is expected to launch early next year ( debut expected in the CES 2013 )and according to the Wall Street Journal , it will sell for around $99. At that price it will be competitive with low-cost tablets from white box Chinese device makers… but like those tablets, Acer plans to sell its $99 tablet primarily in emerging markets including China. In other words, while the Acer Iconia B1 passed through the FCC websiterecently, it’s not clear that Acer has any plans to sell this budget tablet in the US. The Acer Iconia B1 is expected to have a 1.2 GHz processor (possibly manufactured by MediaTek), PowerVR SGX 531 graphics, and a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display. While those specs are pretty underwhelming by 2012/2013 standards, they should be enough to offer a decent tablet experience. It wasn’t that long ago that most 7 inch tablets had slower processors and similar (or lower) screen resolutions. The WSJ reports that Acer also plans...

Acer Iconia Tab A110 Spotted With Jelly Bean In UK

Image
It looks like the Acer Iconica Tab A110 is getting an upgrade with Android Jelly Bean 4.1. which we spotted on the UK online seller Ebuyer, which is out of stock now as the status. but still the big thing is this tab has Jelly Bean inbuilt and can be back in sale anytime. When first time we spotted this tablet it was price tagged around $200 which was not any bad price for this tablet comparing with its features quad-core, 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 7-inch, 1024 x 600 resolution display, 8GB internal memory with micro SD card slot and HDMI out. But more over the new upgraded tablet shows some more similarities with the Google s Nexus 7 tablet look. even the UI, down to the placement of the keys below the display and the notification bar on the top, something that you will find only on the Nexus 7 in the Android tablet world. Not that it’s a bad thing. There is no mention about the price tag, lets...

Acer CEO Appears Again With A Request To Microsoft

Image
We recently heard the Acer CEO JT Wang's Words Regarding the Microsoft Surface Release . According to Digitimes, he has renewed its commitment to Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets, but still believes that Surface will do more harm than good. The Microsoft slates will be more negative overall than positive, but Acer still intends to launch its own products running the new OS. In fact, Wang claims to be “the most optimistic CEO” about Windows, claiming that the company’s concerns were around understanding “the new rules of the game.” He said, was now considering possible differentiation strategies to minimize any possible impact on OEM partners, including introducing an artificial price gap. Still, it sound like Acer’s expectations of Surface are somewhat skewed in the first place; Wang supposedly claimed that the major damage would be done if Microsoft priced the entry-level tablet at $199 – thus directly competing with the Nexus 7, a ...

Acer Iconia Tab A210 with Tegra 3 quad-core

Image
Earlier this year Acer quietly launched the new Iconia Tab A200 dual-core Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet, then quickly made it one of the first to ICS with an update in February. While we haven’t seen or heard much of it since becoming available, today at Computex they are showing off its bigger and faster brother complete with NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 under the hood. Acer didn’t show much of the new A210, but we did manage to notice it was complete with basically the same specs as the original other than a few changes. Rocking a 10-inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The differences however is you’ll get the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.2 GHz processor instead of the older dual-core the A200 has. The new A210 will be running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and even support for 3G connectivity. The only problem here is the addition of data support, and a quad-core processor it only comes with a small 3260 mAh battery. The new A210 takes the few t...
