Eldar Murtazin: Galaxy S5 to launch in late April 2014

Samsung Galaxy S5 is the next flagship model from Samsung belived to launch as early as Q1 in 2014, but now according to Mobile-review’s Eldar Murtazin, a guy with a very good record of access to confidential plans inside wireless carriers and/or Samsung, and spoils all the fun. According to him, there will be no Galaxy S5 in Q1 2014. Samsung has scheduled its launch for late April.

There is a shimmer of hope left for a top of the line Samsung device early in 2014, even if Eldar is right. Remember ultra high-end Samsung Galaxy F Series? I asked Mr. Murtazin about them, and he confirms that such phone is in the works. Though Samsung didn’t start showing F Series handset to carriers yet, so chances we’ll get it in early 2014 are pretty slim.

There is also a disadvantage that counters it, mainly that it wouldn’t be fair for owners of the Galaxy S4, many of who probably bought the phone only recently. so it's upto us to believe or not.

From previous reports, there is a new device has been leaked by way of benchmark website, GFX Bench. According to the benchmark posted on the website, the device is identified as SM-G900S and reveals some other information related to the device, which we expected as the upcoming Galaxy S5.

The most interesting piece of information is the display resolution, which is 2560×1440 (QHD). There’s no mention of the display size nor there is an easy way to know the device but the rumours are pretty strong for it to be the Galaxy S5.

Only time will tell if it’s really the next Galaxy S successor but for now we know that it will run Android 4.4 and sport a processor with a clock speed of up to 2.5GHz – presumably a Qualcomm Snapdragon.
