13-inch Asus Transformer Book tablet launching May 21st

Asus's Transformer Book 13 inch tablet will finally be available for purchase in the US starting May 21st. the Asus Transformer Book TX300 features a 13.3 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, and 4GB of RAM. The tablet portion of the computer houses a 128GB solid state disk. But there’s also a hard drive in the keyboard portion, which adds 320GB to 500GB of additional storage. You also get longer battery life when the tablet is docked to the keyboard, since there are batteries in both the tablet and keyboard. Asus hasn’t revealed the official price for the 13 inch Transformer Book yet, but MacMall has been taking orders for a model with a Core i7 CPU for $1430 for a while. Hopefully the official launch means more stores will carry the Transformer Book, and offer the cheaper Core i5 option. Asus is also expected to launch a 10 inch Transformer Book with a much lower price tag of around $399 in the future. [ via ]

Google announced Samsung Galaxy S4 special edition with stock Android

Starting June 26th, you’ll be able to pick up a special edition Galaxy S4 which has been updated with Google Nexus series Stock android selling directly from Google. It’ll feature stock Android 4.2 software and sell for $649. The special edition phone will have an unlocked bootloader and support for T-Mobile and AT&T’s wireless networks. Google is promising that it’ll get prompt software updates, delivered directly from Google. In other words, it’ll be treated a lot like a Nexus device, but without the Nexus brand. It’s an unlocked, unsubsidized phone that you can buy directly from Google and which runs Google’s software. And unlike any Nexus device released to date, the Galaxy S4 has a removable battery and a microSD card slot.

HP SlateBook x2 convertible Android tablet with Tegra 4 for $480

HP's new SlateBook x2 is a 10.1 inch Android tablet with a detachable keyboard that lets you use the system like a notebook. HP is hardly the first company to launch an Android convertible tablet, the company is one of the first to announce a model with an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor (although it looks like Toshiba could be getting ready to announce one soon as well). The Tegra 4 chip is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor with 72-core graphics. It’s the same processor that powers the NVIDA Shield gaming system, which should hit the streets in June. The HP SlateBook x2 is expected to go on sale in August for $479.99 and up. Ramos X10 Mini Pad is an iPad mini-sized Android tablet for $200

Maybe Ramos name doesn't seem very familiar, they are one of the native device makers spotted in China, recently Ramos has introduced a new tablet with a 7.85 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display( same size and shape as an iPad mini) but the Ramos X10 Mini Pad ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The tablet has an Actions ATM7029 quad-core processor and Vivante GC1000 graphics. While the official product page says it’s an ARM Cortex-A9 processor, it’s actually an ARM Cortex-A5 chip, which means it won’t exactly be the fastest performer on the market. But it should have enough power to handle HD video, web browsing, and most Android games. The Ramos X10 Mini features 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage and has a microSD card slot for extra storage space. Asus has unveiled it's new Fonepad, a 7 inch tablet with full voice and data capabilities. There are no docking tricks here, this is strictly a tablet, but one that can make calls and crush data on the go over HSPA+ networks. The new tablet is powered by a new 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It runs Android 4.1 and features an HD display with IPS technology for wide viewing angles and clarity. The tablet has 1GB of RAM, and use a PowerVR SGX540 chip for processing graphics. It weighs 340 grams and has a slim 10.4mm profile. The device sports a 3-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and a 1.2-megapixel front camera.
