8 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet spotted

Image
8 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet spotted : The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 leaks keep on coming. The head of Samsung’s mobile division recently confirmed that the company was working on an 8 inch Galaxy Note tablet, and earlier this week we saw what may be a brochure for the new tablet. Now italian site DDay.it has obtained a few images of what looks like an 8 inch Galaxy tablet in the wild . Actually, what it looks like is a large  Samsung Galaxy S III or Galaxy note smartphone. The photos even show the same buttons Samsung uses on its phones hanging out below the screen. The makes a bit of sense, since 7 and 8 inch tablets are pretty much designed to be held in portrait mode, like phones, while larger tablets work best in landscape orientation. So while Samsung’s 10 inch tablets are button-free, an 8 inch model might look like a big phone. The tablet is expected to have a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. If we’re really looking at a Galaxy Note pr...

Next Google Nexus 10 Variant to have 8-core GPU & quad-core CPU

Image
According to reliable sources the next refreshed Nexus 10 will sport the 8-core Mali-T678 GPU along with a quad-core CPU.  Major component upgrades such as a beefier GPU merits a design overhaul, so maybe we’ll see a brand spanking new Nexus 10 by May or June.  Although, it is also reported that Google may tuck away the beefier chips under the same current Nexus 10 shell. Mobile World Congress is right around the corner, but most can guess that it’s just too soon for Google to announce a new tablet in Barcelona.  Google’s I/O event, however, sounds like a reasonable date for the lid to be lifted. The current Nexus 10 features a dual-core A15 along with the quad-core Mali T604.  Currently, the 16GB model costs $399, and the 32GB model is tagged for $499. Samsung Galaxy note 8.0 Images Alleged

Image
Samsung Galaxy note 8.0 Images Alleged : Samsung has already confirmed plans to unveil an 8 inch Galaxy Note at Mobile World Congress in February. Now we may have an idea what that tablet will look like. Twitter user @Claisifatearg has posted a photo allegedly showing a flyer for the upcoming tablet, complete with pictures of the front and back of the device. If the picture is real, it looks like the Galaxy Note 8.0 may share more DNA with its 5.5 inch smartphone sibling than with the larger Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. It kind of looks like what you’d get if you just blew up the Galaxy Note 2 (which I suppose could also be an indication that the pictures are ‘shopped – as is the fact that ClasificateArg’s Twitter account looks pretty anemic). The 8 inch tablet is expected to have a 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. Like other members of the Note family, it will have an S-Pen which you can use to write or draw on the screen with pressure-sensi...

Thousands of Android apps Ported to BlackBerry in advance of BB10 launch

Image
Thousands of Android apps Ported to BlackBerry in advance of BB10 launch : Research in Motion plans to launch the first BlackBerry 10 smartphones in the coming weeks, and when they hit the streets there will be tens of thousands of apps ready to download from the BlackBerry World store. Over the past few weeks those numbers have gone way up as RIM has held “Port-A-Thons” to encourage Android app developers to port their apps to BB10. In fact, last weekend alone, the company says more than 19,000 apps were submitted to BlackBerry World. One of the challenges facing any new operating system at launch is the limited number of apps available for a new platform. There are hundreds of thousands of apps available for Android and iOS, with Windows Phone and BlackBerry trailing pretty far behind. But RIM is hoping to get a bit of a head start by making it easy to port Android apps to its platform. Like the BlackBerry PlayBook OS for tablets, BB10 has a Java virtual machine that can ...

Image
Google launches Chrome Beta For Android : Google is now offering a Beta versionof its Chrome web browser for Google Android 4.0 and later. Just like the desktop version, Chrome Beta for Android offers a chance to check out new features and improvements before they’re widely available in the stable channel. On the other hand, it also means that you get to experience bugs that will probably be squashed by the time they make it to the Stable channel. The first beta version of Chrome for Android is Chrome 25, and among other things, it offers improved HTML5 and JavaScript performance. But there’s a long list of known problems including generally sluggish performance, particularly on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S smartphones.
