Sony Xperia M gets Unofficial CyanogenMod 11

Sony's Xperia M smartphone can be now ported with an unofficial CyanogenMod 11 based on Android 4.4 KitKat, which has been made available on XDA Developers. but do remember that the ROM is still under improvement.

It's a good news for every xperia M users as,the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-running Sony Xperia M might never get an official KitKat ROM. the CyanogenMod 11 for Xperia M is still in development. The features that are not available just yet are GPS, NFC, auto-brightness setting, the notification LED and listening music through headphones, so it’s obviously not suitable for a daily driver.

Only try this if you are an experienced in custom ROM patching or a developer other wise, it might turn out to be a big mess if do something wrong, and remember it will void your warranty if it's newly purchased.  here is the full change log of this new custom ROM.

  • Camera (photos, camcorder & panorama)

  • Audio and video playback

  • Audio recording

  • Wifi & Wifi tethering

  • Bluetooth & Bluetooth tethering

  • OpenGL rendering

  • Hardware video decoding & encoding

  • Sensors (Accelerometer & Proximity)

  • Sdcard


 

Not working/Tested:

  • Routing audio to headset/headphones

  • Nfc

  • Gps

  • auto brightness

  • notification led
