According to  SamMobile, Samsung will announce Galaxy Grand Lite at MWC 2014 and will feature a 5-inch WVGA display sporting a resolution of 380 x 800 pixels. Moreover, the handset is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage with expandable memory via microSD card slot and a 2,100 mAh battery. The handset will be available in white, “Midnight Black”, “Lime Green”, and orange colors.

On the rear, the handset is rumored to feature a 5MP camera, paired with a VGA front-facing camera and will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, but it is expected to launch with Android 4.3 pre-installed out of the box. Additionally, the handset will also come with dual-SIM support for emerging markets such as China and India where dual-SIM smartphones are fairly popular, but it’s not confirmed at the moment.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite will be in stores in the fifth week of 2014, which is the one starting on January 27 and ending on February 2. The phone will come in black, orange, and “lime green”, perhaps wishing to appeal to those who love the colorful Nokia Lumias.

Compared to the Original Galaxy Grand 2, the Grand Lite keeps the same processor, internal storage space, and microSD card support – but is a downgrade in all other respects. In terms of camera resolution (for both the front and back snappers), it’s even lower-end than the original Grand. The storage, battery capacity, and screen are the same, while the processor has two extra cores.
