Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite enters into mass production

According to latest reports, Samsung has started mass production of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite variant, a low cost version of successor galaxy note 3 phablet.

There isn't much information out there in terms of specs, though Trusted Reviews says we might see an 8-megapixel camera instead of the 13-megapixel lens on the back of the regular Note 3. The Note 3 packs a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a quad-core CPU, and 3 GB of RAM. No doubt the CPU and RAM will both be cut down in the newer Note 3 Lite.

All this said, if the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3 GB of RAM inside remain untouched, the new Galaxy Note 3 Lite has the potential to be quite a success. That’s probably not going to happen, but to what extent isn’t really clear right now. Either way, Samsung expects about 30% of its Note phablet sales to be made up of the new Lite variation, which means that the full price handset won’t have much to fear.

One important detail about the Note 3 Lite will definitely be its price. But unfortunately we haven’t heard anything about that so far. Though because of the aforementioned sales prediction (that just 30% of Notes sold will be the Lite version), we assume the discount will be akin to what Apple has done with the iPhone 5C. So you really shouldn’t expect a Note 3 Lite that’s half the price of the Note 3.

Samsung is also believed to be working on its most affordable Galaxy tablet yet, believed to be called the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, in January next year.
