Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 specs, features, price and release date

Samsung has announced the new Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone that features several improvements over its predecessor. To start off, it features a new design that is similar to the new Galaxy Note 3 with a stitching pattern around the faux leather back.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a 5.25-inch HD 720p display and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor supported by 1.5GB of RAM that can offer a smooth performance and clutter free Android 4.3 Jelly Bean experience.

The imaging requirements are said to be handled by an 8-megapixel primary camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. Notably, the rear camera is capable of recording Full HD 1080p videos while the front-facer can do the same in HD. Samsung has given the phone 8GB of onboard storage capacity that can be enhanced up to 64GB using a micro SD card slot and a 2,600 mAh battery fuels the phone delivering up to 17 hours of talk time.

Connectivity is handled by aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS and micro USB and the phablet successor will be available in black, white and pink (selected regions) color variants.

Besides the hardware specifications, the dual SIM phone comes with native software features such as

The larger display means the new model is slightly taller and wider than its predecessor. It still has a dual-SIM slot and the same 8 megapixel camera on the back. The Galaxy Grand 2 comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The phone will be available primarily in white, with black and pink offered in select regions
