Qualcomm Toq smartwatch will launch on December 2nd for $350

Qualcomm has announced its Toq smartwatch for upcoming December 2nd debut, the same smart watch we heard in IFA last September- but failed to launch a little bit earlier. however, the Toq will be  ready to ship now from starting December 2nd for a hifty price tag of $350, which is quiet higher than any smartwatch available right now.

Qualcomm Toq smartwatch

Qualcomm’s smartwatch is officially more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Gear, priced at $300, and the $200 Sony Smartwatch 2, plus is more than twice the cost of the Pebble. Like the Sony and Samsung watches, the Toq is only compatible with Android phones and tablets, but it’s less restrictive than the Galaxy Gear, as the minimum in needs to operate is Android 4.0.3.

Still is it worth all that money? Like many other smartwatches, the Toq is focused on delivering smartphone notifications to your wrist. The real innovation here is Qualcomm’s low-energy Mirasol display. This allows the screen to always be on, and uses ambient light to keep the screen readable even in bright sunlight, which consumes very little energy, but still remains visible in sunlight thanks to its clever reflective, ambient-light harvesting technology. The Toq also has wireless charging built-in, and comes with a pair of custom stereo Bluetooth headphones.

The Toq has a 1.55-inch screen with a 288 x 192 pixel resolution, and is powered by the same 200MHz chip found inside the Pebble. The watch is waterproof, and the battery is expected to last for around three days. Like others of its kind, the Toq will display notifications from your phone, accept or reject calls, and run various apps.

The Toq only works with Android smartphones, and will interact with a companion app from Google Play. It uses wireless charging via Qualcomm’s new WiPower LE standard, and special editions of the watch will come bundled with various headphone setups.

But still hearing all that features the $349.99 is a lot for a smartwatch, especially when the Pebble offers similar base functionality, along with a slew of apps and iOS compatibility, for less than half the price.

If you are still intersted, then Qualcomm will be selling the Toq through its own dedicated website from December 2. At the time of writing there’s no pre-order listed, and it’s unclear whether the Toq is only for the U.S. market, or if it’ll be sold internationally. check out the official website right below.

So are you really interested in buying one of your own? why you feel its worth all that money ?
