Sony D6503 leaked photos, looks familiar with Xperia Z1 design

Sony has already announced at CES 2014 the Xperia Z1S and Xperia Z1 Compact. now, Images of a new Sony device referred to as the "D6503" have been posted to the xda-developers forums by user iRimas. While it carries an OmniBalance design similar to the Xperia Z1, this new D6503 has a few notable differences. Those include slightly smaller side bezels, a lanyard hole that's switched sides from the Z1 and a bottom speaker that takes the form of three small holes rather than one large mesh cutout.

The iRimas doesn't reveal anything specs wise than claiming that it's packing a 5.2-inch display, which is slightly larger than the 5-incher found on the Z1 and could explain the slightly smaller side bezels. The screen is also said to be "much better" than the Z1's. The D6503 is also reportedly packing a 20.7-megapixel camera, Android 4.3 and a body that's thinner than its Z1 sibling.

Sony is undoubtedly working on a successor to its Xperia Z1 flagship, and with its similar but refined design and slightly larger display, the D6503 could be it. If this is indeed a new Sony device, there's a chance that it could make the trip to Barcelona for an official unveiling at Mobile World Congress at the end of February. Good thing that there are several images of this D6503 to keep us occupied until then. Check out a couple more in our gallery below and a full set at the xda link below.
