Geeksphone Revolution will have dual-boot Android and Firefox OS

Geeksphone Revolution smartphone is  capable of running Android as well as the Firefox OS smartphone operating systems last year, has now revealed details about the smartphone. However, the company has still not revealed pricing and availability details of the Revolution phone.

Geeksphone Revolution will have dual-boot Android and Firefox OS


The company claims that Geeksphone's MultiOS technology will allow users to switch between Android, which will be running on top of Revolution phone by default, and Boot2Gecko by Mozilla, or any other community-supported OS. Geeksphone has also revealed that users will be offered regular updates via a 1-click OTA system. 
Dual OS Boot is the first time experience for smartphone users, even the idea has been popular from a year, Geeksphone Revolution is the first to launch officially into market.

While the Geeksphone Revolution is a equipped with Android and Firefox OS dual system models, but the official description Geeksphone do use the Firefox OS original name Boot2Gecko by Mozilla, this is because there is no access to Firefox Geeksphone trademarks and brands license. Furthermore, in addition to Android, users can also choose to install some of the "social support ROM" as a supplement. Of course, users can also easy to use graphical interface to switch between multiple systems. Geeksphone said, whether it is Firefox OS or Android can have the official OTA upgrade, so users do not have to worry about system upgrade issues.

Appearance can be seen after the Revolution with a former black and white panda smartphone design, there are three touch buttons beneath the front, the back has a slightly convex top of the camera and lights, the bottom has a speaker, the whole size of 68.4 × 9.8 × 135mm. Hardware configuration, Revolution equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, a resolution of 960 × 540 4.7-inch touch screen, 1GB RAM, 800-megapixel rear camera and 2.0 megapixel front camera.

Earlier this month, Geeksphone, along with Silent Circle, an encrypted communications firm, announced it would introduce a smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2014 event in Barcelona.
